2025 is shaping up as a pivotal year for the CMA family. We have been given a $250,000 gift for year one of a project to build three new, Australian, Ministry Board Training courses, that are based on a Practical Theology of Governance, and that dovetail into the Australian regulatory systems.
The Board Internship is now in its fourth year, placing under-35-year-old Christians in Church / Ministry boardrooms around the country as observers for a year, alongside some training, mentoring and networking.
And the CMA Standards Council is gathering momentum by accrediting Christian organisations against a set of principles and standards of better governance, accountability and transparency – “Building Faith and Trust”.
We invite you to a free morning tea in Hobart, where for about 40 minutes after brief refreshments Steve Kerr (CMA Standards Council) and Gary Williams (CMA) will update you on the board training project, work towards a theology of governance, how you can engage with building the next generation of church / ministry board leaders, and how Christian organisations can not just meet secular standards, but actually be at the forefront of accountability, counteracting the perceptions that arise when big Christian organisations fail publicly and harm God’s reputation, and that of the church.
