Description

The board’s significant roles extend well beyond the often presumed narrow focus on risk and compliance. In this session, CMA Board Chair and consultant Steve Slade will help attendees understand more about the board’s role in strategy, purpose and program alignment. Those present will gain some insight into:

  • Understanding the role of the board in the development and approval of strategy
  • How our faith informs strategy
  • The importance of deep discussion and agreement on organisational purpose
  • The role of the board in program and service planning, approval, monitoring and evaluation
  • Aligning and measuring marketing and communications with strategy and purpose
  • The value of complaints and feedback, and what questions the board should be asking.

The presentation will run for 25 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of Q&A with the general audience. At the 30-minute mark, the public meeting will conclude, and the Board Interns will remain behind for a more extended discussion with Steve. A recording of the first 30 minutes will be provided to all registered participants after the webinar is complete, so even if you can’t attend live, register now to ensure you get the recording.
