About Us

The Baptist Churches of NSW & ACT is a movement of over 350 churches working together to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word, sign and deed. By collaborating, we mobilise local congregations and empower ministry leaders to pursue the Gen1K vision of growing to a thousand healthy churches in a generation. Building on the success in supporting the planting of 21 new congregations in 2024 and 17 in 2023, the Gen1K Church Multiplication Team is central to fostering growth, innovation, and discipleship in our churches.

The Role

The Team Leader – Gen1K Church Multiplication will provide visionary and strategic leadership to foster church planting and multiplication across NSW and ACT. You will oversee a high-capacity team, define and drive strategic priorities, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to inspire, equip, and support leaders and churches to thrive. The role is a permanent position and will be between 0.6FTE and 1.0FTE, with final arrangements being made with the successful candidate. Candidates who are available both part-time and full time are invited to apply.

 

The Successful Candidate

We seek a mature and committed Christian with a calling to serve God in this vital leadership role. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • A deep relationship with Jesus and a passion for disciple-making and church multiplication.

  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills with experience in team management.

  • Proven ability to communicate and implement a vision across diverse stakeholders.

  • Emotional and cultural intelligence, fostering a consultative and empowering leadership style across broad networks.

  • Accredited or Recognised Minister with Baptist Churches of NSW & ACT, or eligibility for this.

  • Support for the Association’s Basic Doctrines, Position Statements, Vision, Values, and Objectives.

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience as a church planter or involvement in a church planting network.

  • Familiarity with cross-cultural ministry and innovative church planting models.
