We are looking for someone with Utra Data knowledge and experience and/or a strong banking background to optimise the performance and efficiency of our IT platform and infrastructure for end users and our business applications.

Baptist Financial Services Australia Ltd (BFS) is an Australian Baptist Ministry providing financial services for Baptist and evangelical churches and ministries across Australia. The Company was established in 1984 and now has total assets exceeding $500 million. BFS operates a registered charitable investment scheme regulated with an AFS Licence to provide an opportunity for the raising of funds to resource Baptist and other Christian ministries. We offer a range of savings and term investments to help pool funds to resource Christian ministry. Loans and other assistance and services are provided to churches and Christian organisations to support their work and activities. 

Key responsibilities of this role:

  • Analyse existing systems to identify areas for improvement – including reviewing documentation provided by Ultra data to understand potential of the Ultracs system for BFS.

  • Develop and review design specifications and the technical solution design provided by vendors.

  • Gather and analyse data to evaluate the effectiveness of existing systems.

  • Develop documentation for system implementations and assist the Change Manager with support for training material and training delivery.

  • Provide IT support to Operations as required.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information technology, or related field or equivalent experience.

  • Proven experience as a System Analyst or similar role with a core banking platform in the Financial Services industry.

  • Experience with Ultracs an advantage

  • Experience working in a project environment in addition to BAU.

  • Database administration experience beneficial.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, tools, and best practices.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
