Student Finance Officer

Part-Time, Permanent (3 days per week)
Hours: 7.35 hours per day
Location: Flexible (Sydney preferred, Parramatta Campus)

Alphacrucis University College (AC) is seeking a detail-oriented and student-focused Student Finance Officer to join our Student Support team on a part-time, permanent basis.

This role plays a key part in supporting students with fees and payments, ensuring they understand their financial obligations and available options such as payment plans, FEE-HELP, and scholarships. The Student Finance Officer also ensures accurate financial records are maintained within AC’s student management system, contributing to a positive student experience.

About the Role

As a member of the Student Support team, the Student Finance Officer is responsible for providing timely, accurate, and supportive financial assistance to students throughout their study journey.

Working pattern:

  • 3 days per week (Tuesday is mandatory; the other two days are flexible)

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure students receive accurate and timely invoices for tuition and other fees.
  • Provide clear information to students regarding payment options, including payment plans and FEE-HELP.
  • Monitor student fee payments, follow up on non-payments, and apply late fees or penalties as required.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in the student management system.
  • Assist with invoicing and payments for local church partners and third-party organisations.
  • Support the finance team with investigation and recovery of aged debt.
  • Respond to student and staff enquiries relating to financial matters that impact the student experience.
  • Undertake other duties as required to support team and organisational objectives.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Completion of Year 12 or equivalent (essential).
  • Qualifications in finance or business are desirable but not essential.

Experience

  • Familiarity with the higher education and/or VET sector.
  • Experience working effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Experience processing high volumes of data accurately and efficiently.
  • Experience working with financial records and financial processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and responsive approach.

Knowledge

  • Understanding of the Higher Education and VET environment.
  • Knowledge of basic financial systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.
