Secondary Schools Ministry Network Coordinator

Time Commitment: Up to 5 days per week

About the Role
The Secondary Schools Ministry Network Coordinator is responsible for developing, onboarding, equipping, connecting, and supporting volunteers who lead Christian lunchtime groups in NSW public secondary schools.
Through building strong local volunteer networks, developing and distributing age-appropriate resources, partnering with churches, and strengthening volunteer capability, this role contributes to SUNSW’s vision of seeing Christian lunchtime groups established in 50% of NSW public secondary schools by 2029.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Increase the number and effectiveness of Christian lunchtime groups in NSW public secondary schools through volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and resource provision
- Build and support regional volunteer networks, connecting volunteers with regional leaders and fostering collaboration, training, and best practice
- Develop, curate, and maintain engaging, age-appropriate ministry resources through creation, collaboration, and partnerships
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of training events, camps, and leadership development opportunities
- Work collaboratively with the Schools Ministry team to support the wider SUNSW mission and strategic outcomes
Key Outcomes
- Growth in the number, sustainability, and effectiveness of Christian lunchtime groups across NSW secondary schools
- Increased recruitment, onboarding, and retention of volunteers
- A comprehensive and up-to-date catalogue of ministry resources
- Compliance with all required SUNSW, school, and child safety standards
- Volunteers and regional leaders are well-supported through training, communication, prayer, and ongoing engagement
- Contribution to training events, camps, and student leadership development programs
About You
You will bring:
Essential experience and skills:
- Experience in secondary school ministry and/or secondary teaching
- Experience in resource creation and curriculum development
- Experience working with volunteers in diverse contexts
- Strong understanding of Safe Church and child protection frameworks in schools and ministry settings
- Ability to build relationships across denominations, communities, and geographic regions
Desirable skills:
- Experience using CRM systems
- Public speaking and training experience
- Graphic design skills (e.g. Canva, Photoshop, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
Requirements
- Active Christian faith and commitment to the mission and values of Scripture Union NSW
- Active involvement in a local church
- Agreement with SU NSW Aims, Beliefs, Working Principles, and Code of Conduct
- Current NSW Working With Children Check
- Completion of approved Child Protection Training (renewed every 3 years)
- Unrestricted driver’s licence
- Ongoing personal Christian discipleship and formation
