Employment type Paid position, part-time (2 days per week / 0.4 FTE), 6-month contract with potential for extension
Salary $90,000 FTE (pro rata) 

About Faith Values

Faith Values (FV) is a Melbourne-based Christian not-for-profit working with multifaith communities to help educators engage students with diverse worldviews, beliefs and religions — strengthening community connection and social cohesion through informed, respectful dialogue. 

Our vision is to see quality curriculum-aligned Religions and Worldviews Education (RWE) for all Australian students to flourish in a cohesive multicultural and multifaith society. Our work is grounded in a commitment to Christian character, integrity, and service to the common good. 

Faith Values leads the Multifaith Education Collaboration (MFEC) and is currently piloting its RWE program in Victorian schools, with a government school pilot commencing July 2026. This is a pivotal moment in the organisation’s growth — and a unique opportunity to shape how faith and worldviews are engaged in Australian classrooms. 

Position Purpose

The Schools and Engagement Lead is the primary relationship lead for Faith Values’ engagement with the Victorian school sector and education system stakeholders. This is a senior external-facing role for someone who understands how schools work, speaks the language of educators, and can build trusted relationships with principals, curriculum leaders, and education authorities. 

The role is focused on recruiting and onboarding pilot schools, sustaining meaningful relationships across the school community, and engaging the broader education sector ecosystem — including the Victorian Department of Education, VCAA, and teacher professional learning networks. It works closely with the CEO and is central to the successful delivery and long-term adoption of the RWE program. 

Key Responsibilities

School Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Lead outreach and recruitment of pilot schools across Victorian government, independent, and faith-based sectors

  • Build trusted relationships with school principals, deputy principals, curriculum coordinators, and classroom teachers

  • Guide schools through the full onboarding process — including ethics approvals, scheduling, staff briefings, and resource familiarisation

  • Serve as the primary and ongoing point of contact for schools throughout the pilot, ensuring they feel well-supported 

Education Sector Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent Faith Values in engagement with the Victorian Department of Education, including approvals processes and relationship management

  • Build relationships with teacher professional learning networks, school leadership associations, and education sector peak bodies

  • Represent Faith Values at education sector conferences, forums, and professional learning events 

Teacher and Professional Learning Engagement

  • Plan and support the delivery of teacher professional learning sessions associated with the RWE pilot

  • Build relationships with participating teachers and gather ongoing feedback on the program’s classroom impact

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Demonstrated Christian character and personal alignment with the mission and values of Faith Values

  • Significant experience in the Victorian school or education sector — as a teacher, school leader, education consultant, or sector engagement role

  • Confidence engaging with government education bodies including the Victorian Department of Education and VCAA

  • Deep understanding of how schools make decisions — including the rhythms, pressures, and approval processes that shape school participation in external programs

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills — able to represent Faith Values credibly, warmly, and compellingly

  • Self-directed and well-organised, with the ability to manage a broad portfolio of school and sector relationships

  • Current Working with Children Check (Employee) or willingness to obtain prior to commencement

  • Legal right to work in Australia 

Desirable

  • Familiarity with Religions and Worldviews Education or curriculum-aligned education programs

  • Experience working across government, independent, and faith-based school sectors

  • Existing networks within Victorian school leadership or education sector bodies
