Property and Facilities Manager

Life Ministry Centre (LMC) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Property and Facilities Manager. Leading a team of 7 people, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining an attractive environment for the LMC community ensuring that staff, students and the public are provided with high quality and appropriate services in a timely, effective and friendly manner.  We are looking for someone who can balance an active hands-on approach with the organisational and management skills required to do the job successfully.

 

About the Organisation

LMC is a Christian organisation that has been operating for over 65 years comprising 4 divisions: a church, A Co-educational Christian School, A Sports Centre and a Christian Early Learning Childcare Centre. Our property includes a variety of administration and educational buildings along with sporting and recreational facilities and is located on approximately 70 acres in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

 

About the Role

The key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Prioritising and scheduling all maintenance items relating to property and facilities.
  • Supervision of the Grounds & Maintenance teams, delegating tasks according to skills and experience.
  • Developing and managing a proactive annual Preventative Maintenance Schedule for all buildings.
  • Liaising with the organisation’s preferred contractors.
  • Ensuring that safe workplace practices are maintained.
  • Where required, liaising with regulatory bodies (i.e. local council, water authority, etc).
  • Developing and implementing a plan for the entire property including, maintaining buildings, grounds and assets whilst assisting in the operational requirements associated with event functions.
  • Reporting to the Managing Director.

About you 

Short listed candidates will be able to demonstrate they possess the following skills and experience: 

Essential Criteria       

  • Ability to lead and inspire a team to achieve common goals while maintaining a willingness to actively participate as a member of the team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in performing maintenance tasks of varying types.
  • Ability to prioritise competing tasks and manage the workload of the team.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite of programs and a willingness to implement technology.
  • Ability to manage operating budgets.

Desirable Criteria

  • Qualified tradesperson (e.g., carpenter, mechanic, etc.)
  • Experience working in a similar environment.
  • Facilities or project management

 

An attractive package will be offered to the preferred candidate including three extra days of leave between Christmas and New Year.
