GENERAL INFORMATION

Position Title:                          Project and Operations Officer

Reports to:                               Direct Report to FV CEO

Location:                                   FV office location is to be advised and will likely be a combination of a home office and use of facilities within a co-working spaces across Melbourne.

Employment type:                 Paid position, part-time (2-3 days per week), 6-month contract with potential for extension

 

ABOUT FAITH VALUES

Faith Values (FV) works to see quality Religious Education for all Australian students to flourish in a cohesive multicultural and multifaith society. It works towards this vision by developing community endorsed, curriculum aligned RWE resources, that includes education about the Christian Faith, based on a Worldviews approach initially for Victorian and then eventually to all Australian school students and teachers as an essential part of their holistic education and development of their social well-being. Our work is grounded in a commitment to Christian character, integrity, and service to the common good.

Following the success of our advocacy efforts, we are now launching a pilot RWE program. As a lean and growing organisation, we are looking for a dynamic and organised individual to support both the project delivery and the day-to-day operations of the team.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Project and Operations Coordinator plays a central role in the successful implementation of the RWE pilot program and in supporting the ongoing operations of Faith Values. This role involves a blend of project coordination, stakeholder engagement, meeting logistics, and executive support—ensuring that internal systems and external partnerships function smoothly and effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate timelines, tasks and milestones for the RWE pilot program
  • Liaise with school leaders, curriculum developers, and external stakeholders
  • Recruit and onboard 15 pilot schools across Victoria
  • Track outstanding actions, risks and deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Draft reports, project updates, and presentation materials for leadership and partners
  • Assist in planning and executing events, briefings and workshops

Administrative and Operational Support

  • Manage the CEO’s calendar, inbox, appointments and travel arrangements
  • Prepare and proofread documents, communications and reports
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings, including agendas, minutes and follow-ups
  • Maintain digital filing systems and internal project trackers
  • Monitor and prioritise incoming correspondence and ensure timely responses

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential:

  • Demonstrated Christian character and alignment with the mission of Faith Values
  • Experience in the education sector (public sector preferred)
  • Experience in project coordination and/or executive or administrative support (minimum 1–2 years)
  • Clear and confident communication skills, including dealing with senior stakeholders
  • Strong task execution and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Legal right to work in Australia

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with education resource development or curriculum design
  • Familiarity with project planning, reporting tools or CRM systems
  • Experience working in a not-for-profit or faith-based environment
  • Event planning or stakeholder engagement experience
  • Understanding of project reporting and evaluation processes
