ADMINISTRATION POSITION

SIM Australia is looking for a Personnel Administration Assistant with a heart for God to join our team.   SIM Australia (sim.org.au) is a Christian mission agency helping to make the Gospel global. We facilitate cross-cultural workers from anywhere to everywhere to reach the least reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The role of Personnel Administration Assistant involves liaising with new applicants from NSW, QLD and ACT then journeying with them administratively through their application process.  The role does not end once they depart for their field of service, however, as you will have an on-going role of managing their training and paperwork.

This is a part-time (0.8) position, ideally based in the SIM Australia Sydney office, although a hybrid work from home scenario is acceptable.

Essential knowledge, skills and competencies

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Christian faith – A heart to follow Jesus, and participation in a church community
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment (and autonomously as required)
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in an administrative role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organisation skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, exercise flexibility and be capable of learning on the job (there will be in-house training for the role).

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required

  • Experience in a similar role in the industry
  • A desire to improve and learn new things
  • Ability to accept direction, retain knowledge/training and follow instructions effectively and efficiently

  • A positive attitude towards work and helping others
