Who is FEBC Australia?


FEBC Australia or Far East Broadcasting Co (Australia) is an independent member of FEBC International, an inter-denominational media ministry of 26 ministry fields collaborating to communicate the Good News among the nations and inspire people to follow Jesus Christ. Our key focus is to harness the strength of media to share God’s love with those who have not yet heard about Him and with those who have very little access to the gospel. FEBC Australia is accredited by the CMA Standards Council.

The Position


To support our next stage of growth and enable us to deepen our impact, we are seeking two non-executive Directors with experience and skills in governance, engagement of supporters in mission, and fundraising. FEBC Australia prioritises diversity and we encourage women and younger people to apply.


Skills, Experience and Attributes


Our Directors have:

  • A dedication to living their faith and sharing the love of Christ with others.

  • The ability to think strategically, to analyse contexts, opportunities, threats, and to access ideas and activities considering these factors.

  • The ability to identify, understand and respond to risk at the organisational level, noting some of FEBC’s partners operate in high-risk contexts.

  • The ability to read and interpret financial statements, budgets, projections, and to make informed financial decisions.

  • A willingness to learn about FEBC’s ministry, our compliance and regulatory environment, and the requirements of a not-for-profit board member.

  • The ability to apply biblical principles at work.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact productively and cohesively with other Board members.

  • Personal qualities of integrity, diligence, spirituality, flexibility and to be a team player.


We are particularly looking for new Directors to complement our current Board, bringing:

  • Experience in engagement of Australians, including churches

  • Experience in fundraising for not-for-profits

  • Governance experience on not-for-profit Boards

  • An understanding of HR processes and skills to support the organisation’s management of staff.

Commitment


Our Board currently meets 5 times a year: 2 weekends in person in Sydney, and 3 zoom sessions.
