Music Minister (Full time / Part-time)

St Matthew’s Anglican Church Manly is an evangelical church situated in the heart of Manly on The Corso; with unique gospel ministry opportunities. Our vision is to grow God’s church through the gospel, and we are seeking someone who is musically gifted with strong leadership abilities to assist in the fulfilment of this.

The person we seek will be a gifted musical leader who can lead and develop the music ministry to a high standard and play an important role in the planning and delivery of our Sunday services, working in conjunction with the teaching ministers and broader staff team. As such they need to have strong musical and relational capabilities to work with a gifted team of staff and volunteers.

We are open to considering full-time or part-time arrangements, including a potential job share, for the right candidate(s).

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong musical skills and demonstrated capability in leading corporate worship.

  • Experience in recruiting, training, developing and leading musical teams.

  • Capacity to develop and implement a compelling vision for gospel-centred music ministry.

  • Strong organisational skills, with experience in planning, organising, and delegating ministry activities associated with running our Sunday Worship services.

  • A collaborative approach and demonstrated effectiveness working as part of a staff team.

  • Some working knowledge of sound and audio-visual technology relevant to contemporary church music.

  • Theological education is desirable, or a willingness to undertake theological studies part-time.

  • Capacity and interest in contributing to the broader ministry areas according to the candidate’s gifts and experience.
