Job Title: Mandarin Ministry Director  

Location: Clayton Church of Christ  

Annual Salary: Competitive  

Employment Type: Part-Time  (2-4 days per week, negotiable)

Clayton Church of Christ is in an exciting season of growth and change as we pursue our vision to ‘build disciples who represent Jesus to everyone, everywhere with everything’. The church is a strong life group based, multi-cultural and medium sized church with weekly worship services in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. As we strengthen our gathered church, we are also preparing for a future focused on mobilising a disciple-making movement.

We are seeking a passionate, spiritually mature, and capable leader to join our staff team as Mandarin Ministry Director. This role provides pastoral, preaching, and leadership oversight of the Mandarin-speaking congregation and plays a key role in cultivating a disciple-making culture aligned with the vision, values, and mission of Clayton Church of Christ.

Key Areas of Leadership and Ministry Oversight:

  • Vision and strategic leadership for the Mandarin congregation
  • Preaching, teaching, and leading Sunday services
  • Pastoral care for individuals, families, and leaders
  • Leadership development of ministry leaders, life group leaders, and volunteers
  • Evangelism, outreach, and engagement with the Mandarin-speaking community
  • Collaboration with the broader pastoral team and church leadership

We are looking for a leader who:

  • is committed to a life of Christian integrity and Christlike character
  • identify with the vision, values and mission of our church
  • has relevant experience and/or qualifications relevant for this role  
  • can work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • demonstrates the ability to lead, preach, mentor, and empower leaders and volunteers
  • holds, or is currently pursuing, qualifications in Christian Ministry, Theology, or a related field
  • is fluent in Mandarin and English (Cantonese is an advantage)
  • is well organized with strong communication, relational and planning skills. 
  • Holds permanent work rights in Australia
  • thrives in a multicultural church environment and loves seeing faith come alive in people
