We do this by engaging young people directly and through the key contexts that shape them, their families, churches, and schools. Our work is driven by a deep commitment to see young people follow Jesus for life, and, while focussed on the Anglican churches of Sydney, has an increasing national and international impact.

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned, faith-filled leader to join our Executive Leadership Team as Head of Donor & Community Relations, reporting directly to the CEO.

This role provides strategic leadership across fundraising, supporter engagement, and organisational communications. Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve annual income and expense targets for stakeholder engagement
  • Develop and deliver integrated fundraising and communication strategies across print, digital, email, social, and media channels
  • Partner closely with the CEO on major gift cultivation and solicitation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with supporters, clergy, Council, senior leaders, and external partners
  • Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, governance, and data protection requirements
  • Provide high-quality reporting, insights, and analysis to inform organisational decision-making

About You

You are a strategic, relational, and values-driven leader with significant experience in fundraising and communications within the not-for-profit sector. You bring both professional excellence and a mature Christian faith to your work.

Essential experience and attributes include:

  • 5+ years’ experience in senior fundraising roles within a not-for-profit organisation
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams in a hybrid environment
  • Proven success in planning and delivering multi-channel fundraising campaigns
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across a wide range of audiences
  • A creative and strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High emotional intelligence, integrity, and resilience
  • Strong financial and general management capability
  • A strong, mature Christian faith demonstrated in personal and professional life
  • Alignment with the reformed evangelical theology of the Sydney Anglican Diocese
  • Active involvement in a local church and Christian ministry
  • Commitment to Youthworks’ mission, values, and ethos as a Christian employer

Desirable:

  • Relevant undergraduate qualification and/or further professional training
  • Experience working closely with CEOs or senior executives
  • Strong data and CRM capability (Salesforce experience highly regarded)
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required

Why Join Youthworks?

  • Be part of a mission-driven organisation shaping the faith of the next generation
