The Head of Chaplaincy provides strategic and spiritual leadership across Seniors Communities, ensuring pastoral care is grounded in Christian faith and evangelical theology. This role plays a vital part in shaping compassionate care services and mentoring chaplaincy teams to meet the diverse spiritual needs of residents and clients.

Based in our newly established office location in Macquarie Park, you will be travelling to Anglicare’s locations in Greater Sydney region to lead and develop a team of Chaplains and Pastoral Carers to implement this vision of Spiritual Care  

 

Your Opportunity 

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of chaplaincy services and Spiritual Care.  
  • Recruit, mentor, and support chaplaincy staff and volunteers.  
  • Promote and integrate spiritual care into all services.  
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.  
  • Ability to apply Christian theology in pastoral settings.  

 

What You’ll Bring 

  • Must hold license or equivalent authority issued by the Archbishop of Sydney.  
  • Must hold relevant degree in theological training from an institution in good standing with the Anglican Church, Diocese of Sydney.  
  • Must be Ordained or hold the position of Senior Lay minister of the Anglican Church of Australia, Diocese of Sydney.  
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in pastoral ministry and ministry team leadership.  
  • Ongoing membership and participation of a local congregation.  
  • Ongoing personal commitment to his/her spiritual growth in the Christian faith.  
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team.  
  • Valid NSW Drivers License and vehicle
