About the Role 

As General Manager Property Development, you will lead the planning and execution of Anglicare’s property development projects. From site acquisition to construction and handover, you will oversee all aspects of project delivery, ensuring developments meet quality, budget, and operational expectations. 

This role requires a visionary leader with strong commercial acumen, stakeholder engagement skills, and deep expertise in property development. You will mentor a high-performing team, manage key partnerships, and drive successful outcomes for Anglicare’s growing property portfolio. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Strategic Property Development: Develop and implement the property development strategy, identifying acquisition and growth opportunities. 

  • Project Delivery Excellence: Oversee the full development lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. 

  • Financial Oversight: Manage development budgets, financial reporting, and contract negotiations to ensure cost efficiency and value. 

  • Leadership & Team Development: Mentor and lead the property development team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. 

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with government agencies, investors, community groups, and contractors. 

  • Risk & Compliance Management: Identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring compliance with regulations and organisational policies. 

 

About You 

You are a strategic leader with a strong track record in property development, commercial acumen, and a collaborative leadership approach. Your ability to drive complex projects, influence stakeholders, and deliver high-quality developments will be key to success in this role. 

  • Proven Expertise: Extensive experience managing large-scale property development projects. 

  • Strategic & Commercial Mindset: Ability to align property initiatives with organisational growth and financial objectives. 

  • Stakeholder Influence: Strong communication and relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in property development, architecture, engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred). 

  • Proven ability to lead and deliver complex property development projects 

  • Strong expertise in contract tendering, procurement, and financial management, with a focus on driving cost efficiency and value. 

  • In-depth understanding of urban planning, construction processes, and property markets, with the ability to translate insights into strategic outcomes. 

  • Demonstrated success in developing and presenting compelling business cases to executive and board audiences.
