TGCA Structure

In 2015 The Gospel Coalition Australia (TGCA) was launched.

Its vision: TGCA exists to commend and contend for the gospel in Australia, fostering connections to advance its reach in our country.

TGCA is a separate entity from The Gospel Coalition (TGC) but shares the same ‘theological DNA’. TGCA is and will remain an Australian entity. TGCA has its own unique constitution. Operation and governance of TGCA is overseen by the TGCA Council. The council consists of up to 20 members. Four members of the Council perform the role of Executive. 

The role of Fundraising Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer, who is primarily responsible to the TGCA Council to achieve the ministry objectives of TGCA with respect to our ministry.

 

Summary of the Purpose of the Position

The Fundraising Manager of the Gospel Coalition Australia (TGCA) is responsible for growing revenue and support for TGCA to meet annual goals to increase capability, capacity and the vision for TGCA so as to:

    1. Reflect TGCA’s values and purposes as reflected in the Foundational Documents, the Confessional Statement and the ‘Theological Vision for Ministry’ (these documents are all located on TGCAs website); 
    2. To work with the Chief Operating Officer, other staff and with funders, donors, key stakeholders and service providers and 
    3. Help achieve the vision of TGCA.

 

Reporting and Working Relationships

The Fundraising Manager of TGCA will report to the Chief Operating Officer.

Spearheading fundraising to grow revenue and support for TGCA on behalf of the Council.

 

Special Conditions

The Fundraising Manager of TCGA will satisfy the following conditions: 

  1. To be enthusiastically committed to the theological vision for ministry and confessional statement of TCGA
  2. Be theologically aware and sensitive to theological nuance
  3. Be an active member of a local church
  4. Tertiary level qualifications in business, or relevant field.
  5. Be subject to satisfactory safer ministry screening
  6. Be available for some out-of-hours’ meetings
  7. Be prepared to travel interstate as required e.g. National Conference
  8. Hold a current driver’s license.

 

Key Outcomes and Activities

  1. Planning – Input into the development of and take responsibility for implementing TGCA’s fundraising strategy. Identify and pursue opportunities to diversify funding sources and expand the current donor base. Contribute expertise to setting annual revenue goals.
  2. Philanthropy – Build and maintain strong relationships with current and future donors, including individuals, foundations, corporations, and other philanthropic partners. Regularly engage donors through personalised strategic communications, face to face meetings, and engagement events to foster a sense of connection and inspire long term support. Lead efforts to identify and cultivate new major gift prospects. Develop personalised cultivation strategies and effective stewardship plans for major donors. Oversee the gathering of research and critical information to inform revenue generation.
  3. Fundraising – Contribute to developing and implementing a fundraising plan for TGCA and drive fundraising activities to meet goals. Work in collaboration with colleagues to plan and coordinate fundraising events, campaigns and activities that nurture, cultivate and inspire new and existing donors to the organization. Stay informed of contemporary fundraising techniques and trends and feedback to TGCA, having a continuous improvement mindset and identifying new revenue streams.
  4. Relationship Management – Develop high quality stakeholder engagement and collaboration with internal and external contacts including supporters. Effective management and stewardship of existing TGCA donors and stakeholders. Build a supportive network of professionals throughout the fundraising community.
  5. Reporting and Data – Track and manage financial goals and keep financial records as required. Develop and contribute to reports such as Board reports as required. Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records for TGCA. Generate regular reports on fundraising activities, donor contributions, and campaign progress. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance fundraising effectiveness

 

Statement of Skills and Experience Required

  3. Work under limited direction or oversight from home or equivalent
  4. Manage complex projects.
  5. Communicate effectively through various mediums.
  6. Motivate and lead volunteers.

Demonstrated experience: 

  1. Ability to think biblically and theologically.
  2. Prompt, cooperative, and efficient work style and output.
  3. Maintaining confidentiality.
  4. Management of volunteers as required.
  5. Respectful and autonomous work in a small team environment.
  6. Ability to make good judgments.
  7. Consistent life and witness.

 

This position is part time 0.2 FTE or 8 hours per week. It is initially for 12 months from the date of signing with the possibility of extension.

FTE Salary: $80,000 + Superannuation
Pro-rated to P/T Salary (0.2 FTE): $16,000 + Super
Effective hourly rate: $38.4615 + Super
