Alpha Australia – Customer Engagement Specialist

We are a collaborative, mission-driven team entering a season of restructuring for scalability, seeking a Customer Engagement Specialist to serve as a key member of the Engagement team. However, this role will span the entire organisation and interact with the Creative, Digital, Donor Development, Youth, and Church Engagement teams.

Location is flexible: Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane

Alpha Australia exists to serve the Church in its mission to help people discover a relationship with Jesus. We equip churches of all denominations to create spaces for conversations about faith.

The Customer Engagement Specialist will thrive on connecting with people across varied contexts, helping them navigate their questions and needs, and ensuring that every interaction reflects Alpha’s mission and values.

Responsibilities include oversight/contribution across the following areas:

  • Customer Engagement Oversight – Lead and manage all inbound customer interactions across multiple channels, ensuring all enquiries are responded to in a timely, professional, and pastorally appropriate manner.

  • Content & Knowledge Management
  • Team Collaboration & Leadership
  • Systems & Process Improvement

KEY ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS

A strong alignment with Alpha’s mission, vision, and values

Deep familiarity with Alpha and how it operates in various contexts

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage warmly and professionally with a diverse audience

Strong written communication skills, with attention to tone, clarity, and accuracy

Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple channels and priorities

Confidence in team collaboration, delegation, and relationship-building

Ability to train others in culture, content and best practice

A proactive mindset with the ability to identify and implement improvements

Comfort working with digital tools and willingness to engage with AI-enabled systems

Desirable (but not essential)

Experience in customer service, ministry support, or community engagement

Familiarity with Salesforce would be an advantage, as well as helpdesk platforms, or chatbot tools

Experience working in or with churches, schools, or not-for-profit organisations

WORK STRUCTURE

This role is offered as:

Full-time, or with flexibility over 5 days per week.
