The Role:
The Children and Families Ministry Director oversees ministry to children and families, supporting the spiritual health of young families. The role involves creating programs that teach biblical values, supporting parents in discipling their children, and working closely with church leadership.

Responsibilities: (We do strongly advise that you acquire a copy of the position description as this notice is a brief summary of the role.)

  • Lead Sunday Kids Church programs to align with church values and biblical teachings.
  • Organize childcare and programs for special events and holidays.
  • Recruit, train, and build teams of volunteers for Kids Church.
  • Ensure compliance with child protection and safety regulations.
  • Provide pastoral care to children and families, in collaboration with the Pastoral Care team.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including managing the ministry budget and maintaining contact details for families.

Key goals and deliverables

  • Help families understand church values and how to disciple each other.
  • Encourage children to differentiate between discipleship and simply serving at church.
  • Equip families to have an impact in their communities.

Prerequisite Qualifications

  • Committed Christian with a calling to children and family ministry.
  • Formal education or experience in children’s/family ministry.
  • Strong biblical understanding and Christian character.
  • Experience working with children and families in church or community settings.
  • Ability to lead, adapt, and grow Kids Church to meet current needs.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Creativity and adaptability to manage programs and embrace online connections.
  • Understanding of child safety laws and the ability to implement best practices.
  • Ability to build a culture of family discipleship.
