Northwest Community Ministries is a ministry of Rouse Hill Baptist Church. A thriving Not-For-Profit organisation in the heart of Sydney’s Northwest, we provide high-quality Outside of School Hours Care at 13 centres with 260 staff serving a community of over 1500 families. ROLE PURPOSE
The CEO provides spiritual and strategic leadership to ensure the health, growth, and missional effectiveness of Northwest Community Ministries. This role stewards the vision entrusted by the Board, nurtures a Christ-honouring culture, and oversees childcare operations, finances, staff, existing programs, and launching new ministries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Vision
- Champion and communicate the vision and mission internally and externally
- Provide godly, servant-hearted leadership aligned with biblical principles
- Inspire and develop a high-performing leadership team
Governance & Strategy
- Partner with the Board to develop and implement strategic plans
- Ensure compliance with relevant law, policy and funding requirements
- Provide timely and transparent reports to the Board
Operations & Financial Oversight
- Oversee budgets, financial health, risk management, and sustainability
- Manage staffing, HR, and organisational culture
- Lead continuous improvement and impact measurement
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, supporters, government, and partners
- Represent the organisation with integrity and clarity in public forums
- Develop funding streams through grants, donations, and partnerships
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
A demonstrated personal faith in Jesus Christ and active involvement in a local church
- Substantial leadership experience, preferably within not-for-profit or ministry contexts
- Proven ability to lead strategic growth, staff development, and operational performance
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Financial and risk management competence
- Understanding of and commitment to Christian organisational governance
- A current Working with Children Check and commitment to child protection principles
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Theological training or experience in Christian ministry
- Prior experience reporting to a board
- Experience working in childcare and/or educational contexts
- Understanding of the provision of social and community services
REMUNERATION
- Salary: $140,000 – $160,000 (plus super) commensurate with experience
