Chaplain – Jericho State School & Alpha State School

Provide social and emotional support to school communities in the Barcaldine area in Outback Queensland.

We have a position available as a school Chaplain to support local schools in the Barcaldine area of Outback Queensland. The schools include Alpha State School and Jericho State School.

Chaplains provide social and emotional support to school communities. They are in the prevention and support business: helping students find positive ways to deal with a range of issues. They are non-judgemental, provide a listening ear and a caring presence for kids in crisis, and those who just need someone to talk to. They are also available as a support for staff and parents in school communities.

Chaplains are sensitive to, respectful of, and available to all in the school communities regardless of their beliefs or backgrounds. All SU Chaplaincy staff and volunteers are empowered and equipped to champion a child safe culture and are committed to the highest standards of safety and care in our work with children, young people and families.

This is a 5 day per week position (negotiable), with the possibility of relocation and study expenses covered for the right candidate.
