European Christian Mission (ECM), is an international, and interdenominational mission that partners with local churches to send Christian workers to Europe. ECM Australia along with other ECM organisations in other countries are part of ECM International.

The Mission of ECM International is to equip, connect and multiply followers of Jesus through church planting and discipleship across Europe.

ECM Australia currently has field workers and partners working in a total of 9 countries across Europe and currently have a number of candidates preparing for service in further European countries.

ECM Australia is a public company limited by guarantee. We seek new board members to grow our board, to continue to provide governance and strategic direction into the future.

Skills Required

Board members will work within our governance structure, to protect the interests of the Mission, ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and hold the staff accountable for their management of it. This is a volunteer, non-remunerated position. To strengthen the Board’s role, we seek new Board members to enhance and develop our skills matrix in the following areas:

  • Governance
  • Financial
  • Legal
  • Marketing & Communications

Board Meetings

The Board meets about 10 times a year with a preference for face-to-face meetings, mostly on Zoom to accommodate members in different parts of Australia. One or two full day (Saturday) meetings are held face to face each year

The Process

If you are interested in being considered for the Board, please send a cover letter summarising your relevant experience and skills you could offer. Please also include a resume with a listing of any previous and current Board service. Previous governance experience would be advantageous but is not imperative. You will also need to be a mature Christian and commit to the Statement of Faith, Vision, Mission, Values and Ministry of ECM. All Board Members must be willing to be bound by ECM’s Principles and Practices.

You will need to provide contact details of the pastor of the church that you attend as we will require a verbal reference.

We reserve the right to undertake a police check.

Appointments to the Board are at the sole discretion of the Board and determination will include understanding the fit of the applicant into the existing Board makeup.

Following receipt of your cover letter and resume, we’ll contact you to arrange a meeting.
