It thrilled the heart of The Board Internship Executive Committee and staff to witness the graduation of 12 interns and to welcome 17 new interns into the program in front of 494 delegates at the 2024 CMA Conference.
At the opening conference plenary, certificates were presented to all 29 interns, and Dawn Penney, CEO of Korus Connect, led a brief commissioning for the incoming interns, after which Paul de Mare from Korus committed them all to the Lord in prayer.
The interns, their appointed board mentors, and representatives of the host organisations all gathered on the Tuesday evening for a brief drinks & canapes function. Although it was primarily a networking function, Samuel John received the prize as the most successful intern fundraiser, Sarah Melville gave a brief presentation from the interns’ perspective, and other brief comments were made by The Board Internship leadership team.
The new interns now slide into their year-long rhythm of board meetings, webinars, mentoring and networking, but in only about six months, we will again be looking for prospective board interns for the 2025 intake. If you know of an outstanding young Christian leader, aged 22-35, who sees board service as part of God’s calling on their life, please direct them to www.theboardinternship.org.au or send us an email to info@theboardinternship.org.au.
If you would like to support either an individual intern, or The Board Internship with a tax-deductible gift, please see more information at https://donorbox.org/theboardinternship2024-5
