Description

This meeting will not be recorded, so you need to be present live to participate.

CMA's 'Let's Talk About ...' online meetings are a Chatham-House rules, mics on / cameras on meeting. There is no 'expert presentation', although we may invite a couple of seasoned practitioners to share a story or two, however the main purpose is to glean from each other, highlight the issues, and have a conversation.

In the current low-unemployment & high inflation environment, recruiting is hard for all organisations, and remuneration levels perhaps feature more than previously. We hear stories of the business / corporate sector making salary offers that charities simply can't compete with, which opens a range of questions about how we might respond. And yet many ministry workers serve for reasons that go way beyond just remuneration. How do you benchmark salaries? How do you attract and retain good people if you can't afford top-level remuneration? Or do you just have to move with the times?

We don't expect to come to any definitive conclusions during our hour together, but good conversations are often stimulating, and give us something to consider as we navigate our own situations.
