About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Public Relations Manager to join us on a permanent full time basis in our Darwin, NT office.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to represent The Salvation Army in the public domain to advance our mission, strategic imperatives and encourage donor engagement through fundraising activities, awareness campaigns and other community engagement events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a local Community Fundraising and engagement plan (Red Shield Appeal , Christmas Appeal and other local events and activities)
  • Implement and nurture regional/community advisory groups and meetings
  • Engage with leaders across the territory to provide advice on matters relating to Communications Portfolio responsibilities
  • Seek opportunities to present The Salvation Army mission through public speaking and networking events
  • In consultation with the National Media Team proactively engage with Local Media agencies to present the Salvation Army mission interest and policy position
  • Facilitate or assist key meetings/events for Salvation Army personnel with Government (Territory & Local) representation

About you:

  • Qualifications in Business or Marketing or Public Relations experience preferred
  • Experience building relationships at an executive level
  • Experience in organisational and coordination skills
  • Experience with media, public speaking, fundraising or multi-media communications (CRMs, Social Media, Print, Radio) or willingness to learn will be highly desirable
