Position Summary

Saward Dawson has grown extensively and now has approximately 80 staff and partners. We expect to see sustained growth.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced People and Culture leader who will work closely with the partners and will report directly to the Managing Partner and be vital part of the senior leadership of the firm. The ideal applicant would be able to accept responsibility for various other tasks to further support the Managing Partner.

The role could be part-time (0.6FTE) or full-time depending on the skills, experience and availability of the right applicant.

The role

The People & Culture leader will be responsible for the recruitment program covering cadets, graduates, administration and experienced staff. This will not only include the process of active recruitment but also promotion of the firm as an employer of choice.

The role will also include staff development and the People & Culture leader will oversee and be responsible for the firm's training and development programs for staff at all levels including leadership development. This staff development arm of the role will also include ensuring that personalised development and performance plans are in place and a balanced scorecard is maintained tracking each person's progress.

Staff support is also a vital role being accessible to all staff and a first point of contact for staff who may wish to share career, work or welfare concerns.

The staff administration element to the role includes maintaining policies & procedures, ensuring compliance with all laws, maintenance of all HR records, overseeing the process of staff performance and salary reviews, checking of payroll each month and maintaining the firm's Salary Continuance insurance program.

The People & Culture leader will also play an important part in promoting the firm culture and would assist the partners with actions and events that enhance the firm's culture.

Salary

Salary will be assessed in accordance with the applicant's skill and experience
