Administration Divisional Assistant
(Maternity Leave Role)

Saward Dawson is a firm of Chartered Accountants based in Blackburn with a strong team culture. This enables our team of 75 plus staff to deliver services in the areas of audit & assurance, business advisory, wealth advisory, personal taxation and superannuation, as well as business, taxation and not-for-profit advisory and consulting.

The role is to primarily support our business advisory team and at times be the first point of contact for our firm as our receptionist. Building relationships and creating a welcoming environment for our clients is integral to our core values. Similarly, being committed to serving the business advisory team to enable them to be more effective in their roles, is crucial.

The role is to cover for a maternity leave position and is for a 12 month period. As a growing and successful business it is likely that opportunities to vary and extend the role beyond the 12 month contract may emerge.

The tasks consist of (but are not limited to):

  • Providing administration support to the business advisory team including collation of client income tax returns, financial statements, liaising with the Australian Taxation Office and preparation of invoices and other various documents
  • General office duties using Microsoft office including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Managing calendars and appointments for staff
  • Processing documents from the ATO
  • Scanning of documents and files
  • Set up conference rooms for client and staff meetings
  • Assisting with in house catering needs when required
  • Reception duties (on a shared basis) including:
  • Answering and directing calls in a professional manner
  • Greeting clients and visitors upon arrival and making them feel welcome
  • Provide tea and coffee to clients and visitors

The successful candidate will:

  • Have 1-2 years administration/reception experience (experience in a public accountancy firm is extremely desirable)
  • Be energetic, vibrant and positive
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate an ability to exercise initiative and discretion
  • Be able to work effectively on your own and as part of a team
  • Have strong skills in the use of MS Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Be highly trustworthy
  • Hold a current driver's licence

Experience with MYOB AE would be an advantage
