Position Description

Carmichael Kids Early Learning Centre is a faith-based Christian not-for-profit Child Care Centre in Morayfield, licenced to educate up to 248 children daily.

We offer a Long Day Care program inspired by Christian values, providing children with numerous opportunities to learn through varied experiences and activities to equip them with essential skills to prepare them for school and beyond.

Accountable to the General Manager, the Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Service. A community-oriented mindset and a high level of professionalism are essential. The Director will be passionate about working with children in a supportive Christian environment and highly motivated to lead and inspire our dedicated childcare team, along with maintaining ongoing, effective communication with parents.


  • Provide pedagogical leadership to ensure quality care and education programs for children, and direction, support and continuous learning for staff.
  • In conjunction with the Assistant Director and Educational Leaders, provide a vibrant, interesting, varied and appropriate children’s program that is developed and implemented to meet the ongoing needs of the children as per the EYLF.
  • In conjunction with the Assistant Director and Educational Leaders, ensure that the philosophy, policies and procedures of the Service are upheld, implemented and reviewed regularly to meet relevant requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with regulations as prescribed by the Education and Care Regulatory Unit along with all legal and statutory requirements.
  • Encourage staff and families of the Service to actively contribute to the quality and success of the Service.
  • As a mandatory reporter, report any concerns regarding suspected abuse or harm immediately.


  • Maintain the ability to satisfy the criteria for appointment as Director.
  • Maintain an understanding of all principles related to Child Protection.


  • B Early Childhood from a recognised University, or
  • Diploma ECE (or previous equivalent), plus 3 years’ experience
  • Current Senior First Aid certificate
  • Valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
  • Approved anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management training
  • Knowledge of stages of physical, emotional, cognitive, social, cultural child development
  • Current knowledge of health, hygiene and nutrition needs of children.

Salary range: $65,000 to $75,000 in alignment with qualifications and experience.
