Concern Australia is a grassroots organisation that works with vulnerable young people and children. We emerged out of the work of Rev Dr John Smith, who also nurtured the growth of the God’s Squad Christian Motorcycle Club in the 1970s.

The future is looking bright as we celebrate our 50th year of impact, have a new strategic plan Resilience and Inspiration and leverage our fresh new identity.

We’re looking for the right people to help us build on this momentum, grow our organisation, and help us make a bigger difference in the lives of young people.


Are you a culture carrier and people leader who has a passion for quality programs and innovation?  If yes, then this executive position may be the opportunity that you’ve been looking for.

The Living, Learning and Earning portfolio is a dynamic and growing area of social impact for Concern Australia.  The role has responsibility to oversee the well-established programs of Hand Brake Turn and Values for Life, and grow two new initiatives, fiXit Social Enterprise and the Victorian Government Jobs Advocate program.

This senior leadership role presents an opportunity for you to apply your experience in contract management, program delivery, stakeholder engagement and demonstrate practice wisdom in the area of social procurement, working with community, government and industry to tap into opportunities that see young people succeed in education and employment.

Key focuses of your role will be to:

  • Provide exceptional people leadership for Staff and Volunteers
  • Manage existing and emerging programs under the Living, Learning and Earning Pillar including program planning, reporting and accountability
  • Oversee all aspects of budgets and financial management of the Living Learning and Earning portfolio
  • Maintain and develop strategic partnerships with current and potential funders, philanthropists and donors
  • Coordinate and lead new innovations
  • Manage all tenders relating to Living, Learning and Earning portfolio
  • Maintain a focus on OHS, Risk and Continuous Quality Improvement
  • Play an active role as a member of the Executive team and contribute to the organisation’s realisation of the strategic plan

Ideally, this position will be based at Concern Australia’s Braybrook office.

This is a 2 year fixed term full time position.

An attractive remuneration package to commensurate with experience and skills will be negotiated with preferred applicant.

Appointments are subject to eligibility and the legal right to work in Australia.

Appointments are subject to satisfactory Working with Children Check, National Police Check, International Police Check (If resided overseas for a period of 12 months or longer for the past 10 years) and other employment screening or credential checks as determined by the position description.
