Fundraising and Communications Officer

Are you passionate about using your skills to make a real difference in the lives of others? International China Concern Australia is seeking a part-time (24hrs per week Monday-Thursday) Fundraising and Communications Officer for our Melbourne-based office.

International China Concern is a Christian development organization bringing love, hope and opportunity to some of the most vulnerable children and families in China. As one of 7 global national offices, the Australian National Office exists to empower and inspire Australian donors to participate in the mission of ICC and to raise funds and staff to support our projects in China.

Working with a small, ambitious team you will generate giving in line with planned income growth. You will be responsible for the delivery of an annual schedule of events and communications as well as growing our network of supporters and events within Australia. You will work will help financially resource and sustain our frontline projects in China.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver a donor-centric communications schedule that will generate increased income from donor communications within agreed budgets.
  • Basic design and content creation in line with ICC branding guidelines 
  • Manage ICC Australia lists and e-campaigns for appeals and event promotion.
  • Manage the development and stewardship of our monthly giving program including donor retention, upgrading, and recruiting strategies.
  • Organize and promote ICC Australia events in conjunction with the national office team, including the annual Walk the Wall walk-a-thon and other scheduled events.

You will need to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a fundraising role, preferably in a not-for-profit environment.  An entry level applicant who has the right mix of skills will also be considered.
  • Experience working with a relational donor database (CRM) and be able to use data effectively to inform communications and campaigns as well as the overall fundraising strategy.
  • Well-developed computer and software skills including Microsoft suite, Google Suite, Adobe, Intermediate Excel skills and Mailchimp.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to quickly establish rapport with a wide range of people.
  • Excellent organization skills with attention to detail and well-developed time management skills
  • Personal commitment to the Christian faith and a desire to see lives transformed by the gospel through demonstrations of justice and mercy to those in need.
