The Position

A lecturer position exists within the discipline of Business.

This will be a Permanent – Full-time or 0.5FTE position depending on the successful applicant.

About the role

Christian Heritage College is seeking a full-time lecturer, aligned with the beliefs, values and vision of CHC, to join the Business Program.

CHC currently offers a Diploma of Business, Bachelor of Business, a Graduate Certificate of Management, a Graduate Diploma of Management and a Master of Business Administration.

The successful applicant may be responsible for the role of course coordinator. This involves advising students on unit selection and course progression, dealing with student issues, and involvement in quality assurance processes.

Applicants with expertise in two or more of the following discipline areas will have an advantage:

Accounting,

Financial Management,

Economics,

Strategic Management and Planning and,

Human Resource Management

Whether the role is a lecturer or senior lecturer role will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful applicants.

CHC is seeking to employ an innovative, flexible team member who is able to teach from a Christian perspective. The role of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer at CHC involves the development and delivery of specific units (subjects) in both face to face, online and hybrid modes. All academic staff must engage in scholarship related to their area(s) of specialisation and are expected to engage with colleagues in school-based and/or CHC-wide committees. A Senior Lecturer provides leadership in course development and scholarship, the latter including research publications (it is important to note that CHC is primarily a teaching institution). 


Skills and experience

Preference will be given to applicants who have:

  • A relevant level 10 qualification – a PhD or Doctorate
  • Demonstrated capacity to prepare and deliver curricula in face to face, online and hybrid modes within a higher education environment
  • Demonstrated capacity to engage students in their learning
  • Demonstrated practical professional experience in the field of business
  • Experience in meeting regulatory requirements of Australian higher education
  • Demonstrated experience in fulfilling administration tasks associated with management of teaching and learning
  • Superior organisational skills demonstrated by appointment to a senior level in a school, university, or other education-related institution (degree of success in this area will be considered in regard to Senior Lecturer appointments)
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead others in scholarly activity (degree of success in this area will be considered in regard to Senior Lecturer appointments)
