Why attend CMA 2023?

Over the last 20 years, the CMA Conference has trained, equipped and resourced thousands of church and ministry leaders, managers, administrators and board members to be more effective in their God-given mission.

We all want to do our best in the church or ministry that God has placed us. But the organisational aspects of ministry are rapidly changing, and can threaten our growth, our success, and our witness if we don't do these things well. Attending the CMA Conference will help you develop the knowledge, skills and practices you need to overcome the hurdles, and move your church or ministry forward.

And, importantly, your guides, teachers and facilitators are, like you, coming from a perspective that is grounded in the Christian faith and Scriptures.

A great church can implode if its governance (elders / deacons / staff) can't navigate complex issues together. Valuable ministries regularly stumble when staff conflict, or legal tangles, drag people away from their core ministry focus.

Our public testimony is destroyed when we accidentally break the law, or go broke, or communicate inappropriately.

Many church and ministry leaders are gifted and passionate in their area of service, but struggle to stay abreast of all these 'ad-ministry' topics that can determine success or failure.

What our delegates appreciate:
> Getting updates on critical compliance obligations such as ACNC, workplace law, tax updates, financial reporting, directors' duties and legal changes.
> Exploring all these operational topics not just in an NFP context, but in the context of Scriptural principles, and digging into the things about ministry operations that are different from the business sector, and different even from the NFP sector.
> Networking with other Christian board chairs, executive pastors, senior ministers, fundraisers, HR practitioners, accountants, lawyers and experts from all around Australia, from a wide range of denominations. The networking is first-class!
> Hearing the latest ideas from around the world in Christian Charity Accountability and Transparency, via the CMA Standards Council and our colleagues at Global Trust Partners and ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability)
> Discovering books, tools, resources and services to help your ministry, that you won't find at your local bookstore (Christian or otherwise!)
> Chatting with the sector experts in our Exhibition Hall, and discovering companies who can save you money, raise you money, reduce your risk, stimulate your strategy and solve your problems!
> Learning new skills and approaches that will help you lead, govern and manage more effectively
> Earning Continuing Professional Development credits towards maintaining currency with professional associations such as Accounting, Insurance, Legal, Governance. Our structured and expertly-led sessions qualify for CPD Credits so long as you keep accurate records.
> Great food, in a great location, with old and new friends, as part of one of Australia's leading gatherings for church and ministry leaders, managers and board members.
