We have an opening for a Warehouse Manager in Perth and are looking for a competent and enthusiastic person to help us grow the ministry of H&F. 

The role includes

  • Managing the movements of 2 vehicles to collect and distribute food. (Around 5 tonnes a week)
  • Sourcing and managing volunteers who help us drive trucks and sort and pack food.
  • Using initiative to find new food sources to help the ministry keep growing.
  • Work with the Community Care Coordinator to grow the church distribution list.
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy warehouse.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Hands and Feet are a not-for-profit organisation who provide help in times of need for the poor, vulnerable, widows, orphans and people with disabilities. Our warehouse at Osborne Park WA is used to collect, sort and distribute food to people in need. All food collected is distributed to families and individuals in need through local churches.

Hands and Feet are looking for a competent warehouse manager to be employed on a permanent full-time basis. (38 hours a week). (We will also talk to part time applicants)

 

Overview of responsibilities

  • Generally the warehouse Manager will manage the collection and distribution of food from stores or primary producers to local churches and in the process add value to and empower the local churches to connect to people in their community.
  • Work with Community Care Coordinator to find new food sources and new distribution centers (Churches)
  • Help source new volunteers to help run the ministry. (Drivers and food sorters)
  • Attend team meetings and training sessions (as scheduled) with Community Care Coordinator.
  • Manage the day-to-day collection and distribution of food to churches ensuring drivers can collect or deliver food with their allotted driving times.
  • Manage the volunteers and work for dole team / Centrelink volunteers who attend site to help the ministry.
  • Adding value to the work for dole team, Centrelink and volunteers.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the warehouse
  • Lock and unlock property as necessary
  • Be responsible for the packing and unpacking procedures of our trucks.
  • Maintain a record of the weight of food in and out of the warehouse through our Crittah Software. (This may require the use of one’s personal phone when using the Crittah App)
  • Ensure the rubbish is collected and disposed of appropriately
  • Maintain good relationships with our neighbours
  • Implement and train staff and volunteers in emergency procedures for the warehouse.
  • Induct volunteers, Work for Dole and Centrelink participants in WHS protocols and record these in our SharePoint files.
  • Maintain the attendance records of the Work for Dole (Supervisor app) and Centrelink participants.
  • Run Team Meetings for Volunteers, Work for Dole and Centrelink participants fortnightly (share vision and issues are addressed)
  • Drive trucks if required for deliveries or pickups.
  • Maintain good relationships with our Customers, volunteers, donors.
  • Record incidents on our incidents form and enter these into Brevity (Software Program).

  • Managing staff, volunteers and work for dole or other Centrelink teams as appropriate.
