PAYROLL ACCOUNTANT

 

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced part-time (0.6 – 0.8 FTE) Payroll Accountant to join the Korus Connect team.

Korus Connect is a Christian not-for-profit organisation that partners with others, through chaplaincy and other community initiatives, to help build communities that are connected, supported and whole.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Payroll Accountant manages the payroll function for Korus Connect and its clients, including:

  • Accurate and timely entry of payroll information into the payroll system, including amending employee records
  • Timely processing of payroll for all staff, including salary, superannuation, leave entitlements, fringe benefits, government paid parental leave etc
  • Responding to enquiries from employees regarding their pay and associated matters
  • Managing the payments made monthly to superannuation funds, through Super Stream
  • Administering workers compensation payments
  • Maintaining confidentiality and privacy
  • Undertaking monthly and annual single touch payroll process and any other ATO processes
  • Keeping up to date with relevant legislation changes and Award updates

We are seeking someone with strong communications skills and a high attention to detail. The successful applicant will meet the following selection criteria:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a full function payroll officer position
  • Excellent computer literacy with a sound knowledge of MS Office Applications, particularly Excel
  • Technical proficiency in payroll and/or accounting software (Myob Greentrees & Xero preferred)
  • Basic understanding of employment law, the National Employment Standards and Awards
  • Excellent attention to accuracy and fine detail
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines at once
  • Passion and alignment with Korus Connect’s purpose, vision, mission and values
