In September, Steve Kerr, Murray Baird and Gary Williams visited NZ with Gary Hoag and Ereny Monir from Global Trust Partners. The primary purpose of the visit was to inform ministry leaders, and Christian legal / accounting professionals, of the growing global governance and accountability movement, and to gauge whether there was an interest, in the NZ Christian community, to explore the formation of a peer-accountability group in that country.

After that series of meetings, a number of organisations / individuals expressed a strong desire to see such a ministry formed in New Zealand. One of the clear points made was that the presence of a well-regulated charity system does not remove the need for a body that assists Christian organisations to go BEYOND the mere regulatory requirements, and be the standard-setters for good and accountable organisational behaviour.

In November, at the encouragement of previous attendees, Steve Kerr and Gary Williams are returning for brief events in Christchurch and Auckland. These events will briefly recap highlights from the previous presentations, and dig a little deeper into what the standards look like, and what might be some next steps for NZ.

If you are a board chair, or senior staff, in a Christian charity, ministry, or church - or if you are a Christian legal / finance professional interested in Charity regulation and accountability, you are invited to join us for these 90-minute events.

IMPORTANT: Although there is no charge, it is essential that you register for the events using the links on this page.

"I commend the work of CMA Standard Council as they seek to encourage the establishment of a standards accreditation system for Aotearoa New Zealand that will encourage quality governance, accountability and stewardship in the charitable sector."
Jay Matenga, Executive Director, World Evangelical Alliance Missions Commission

"Leaders of Churches and Charitable organisations would benefit from these invaluable and timely insights on governance and accountability-I trust you can join us!"
Max Palmer Influence Christchurch

"The subject of good governance can sound like a dry one, but I've experienced first-hand how the strength of governance directly impacts the strength and scale of ministry. GTP's and CMA Standards Council's vision for empowering NZ based ministries to serve more people through strengthening their governance is compelling, founded on solid biblical principles, and backed up by very clear and effective strategies. The concepts presented were well communicated, concise, simple and accessible to all. Highly recommended for anyone leading or guiding a ministry endeavour."
Adam Hutchinson, Director of Golbal Capacity, Prison Fellowship International
