Graeme was born in Ballarat in 1939 and after completing secondary school, moved to Melbourne where he graduated from The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology with a Diploma of Applied Chemistry.

After 2 years with ICI, he joined Nylex as a trainee chemist, and in 1996 retired as CEO of BTR Nylex after 36 years service with the group. At the time of retiring BTR Nylex was Australia’s largest manufacturing company, with sales of $7 billion and 34,000 employees.

During his career with the company, Graeme held a number of technical and management positions including General Manager in Malaysia and New Zealand and a director of the UK based parent company, BTR plc.

He is a former chairman of MYOB, and is currently chairman of Samaritan’s Purse Australia, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Australia, and Concilia. He is also a partner of Business Leader Development, the holding company of The Executive Connection, a CEO mentoring organisation, and is past president of The Peninsula Country Golf Club. Recently he became a director of the social entrepreneurial company Thankyou Pty Ltd.

In 2010 Graeme was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for 'services to the community through a range of charities.'

Graeme is married with adult children and 7 grandchildren, and his interests are golf and yachting.
