Delivering rehabilitation services at its centres since 1971, Teen Challenge Queensland's (TCQ) key Mission is "bringing God's hope and healing to broken lives". TCQ is a Faith-based Not-for-profit (NFP) organisation. TCQ is well placed to assist in the rehabilitation of and restoration of a person to their rightful position within the Community, understanding their purpose and destiny. TCQ's key values aligns to its rich Christian heritage. TCQ is seeking the services of well networked Directors who jointly understand the governance responsibilities of being a Company Director in this modern business landscape, and within the NFP sphere. Directors are sought who can bring with them a passion for young lives and witnessing those young lives being fully restored and returned to the broader community. A track record as an accomplished governance-aware Director performed over many years will be positioned well to assist Teen Challenge in these key roles.

THE POSITION

  • Working with the fellow Directors and the Executive Director, you will be co-responsible for the effective governance of two companies which are at the forefront in leadership within Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Services.
  • You will help develop, articulate and implement a clear strategy to raise funds and assist the organisation continue in the building of a sustainable business. Developing financial multiple income streams to assist the Mission continue to deliver the high-quality rehabilitation and care services to the young lives within our care.
  • Your role will also be co-responsible to work together with the fellow Directors to support the Executive Director in order to maintain and improve revenues to support operations. Ideally leveraging from your well-honed business development skills and experience.
  • The requirement to possess strong governance experience will set you aside as key to helping ensure that the organisation maintains its strong position possessing professional operating policies and procedures commensurate with recent State Government governance requirements for non-for-profit (NFP) organisations.
  • As a NFP, we are seeking Directors with passion and active participation, who can contribute to Teen Challenge QLD for which the role(s) offer(s) no compensation.

THE PERSON

  • You will be passionate about Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation sector.
  • You will be personally and professionally able to commit to the work and values of this Christian organisation.
  • You will possess outstanding interpersonal, communication and collegiate leadership skills, coupled with an uncompromising commitment to professionalism and creating a dynamic environment with fellow Directors, and the Executive Director, particularly.
  • Be a high EQ contributor, working together with fellow Directors to maintain a sustainable organisation, capable of delivering these high-quality services.
  • Share a passionate belief in driving the delivery of services as a major AOD provider delivering high-quality customer service, whilst assisting the Directors support the Executive Director maximising efficiency within the operational environment.
  • You will possess experience within strategy formation, with a strong governance orientation is preferrable.
  • You will be committed to continuous professional development in risk management and governance. A current Fellow, Graduate or Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, would be highly regarded.
