Mission Travel exists to glorify God by being a blessing to our clients, supporters and partners. We are a thriving business, successfully combining excellence as a travel agency with God's heart for mission and justice. The Melbourne office has 12 staff and we are growing!

 

We are currently seeking an experienced Travel Consultant to join our mission team to contribute to our growth and outreach.

Expert travel advice | Our agents can craft a tailor-made itinerary that can simply take travellers interstate, or to the ‘ends of the earth’ and back! Chances are we’ve been there!

 

Support | We support our clients before, during and after their travel with information, education, excellent partner organisations and a community that links us all together.

 

Care | We care how and where our clients travel. We care that they make a positive impact to the communities they touch. We care so much we pray for them and we’ll take their call 24/7.

 

Giving Back | We love Mission, and up to 50% of our profits are invested into mission work that continues to transform lives here and abroad.

 

The successful applicant will:

1.    Champion our values and behaviours of Responsiveness, Respect, Honesty, Care and Faith – reflecting Christian values is essential in dealing with our clients.

2.    Ideally, you have travelled extensively through developing countries – particularly Africa, the Middle East and Asia, and you can speak authentically of your experiences. Our clients travel the world to serve the poor so you need to be empathetic and enthusiastic about their mission.

3.    Possess strong administration, time management, and problem solving skills – travel is very deadline oriented and administratively demanding work.

4.    Be a team player – each team works collaboratively to service our clients and streamline processes.

5.    Give attention to detail – a good eye for detail as well as the ability to process quickly is key.

6.    Be a fast learner – the travel industry changes almost daily and the areas our clients travel to can be volatile!

 

This is a full-time position based in our Melbourne office (Surrey Hills, VIC location) to commence as soon as possible.


Retail, groups or wholesale travel industry experience would be highly valued. The majority of training will be on-the-job plus some classroom-style training courses for our airline reservation (Amadeus) and office finance software (VTO).
