About Scripture Union Queensland

Scripture Union Queensland is a Christian not-for-profit with a heart for youth and children. We are the largest provider of school chaplains in Australia, and each chaplain is uniquely placed to support our children and young people as they navigate life’s increasingly complex issues. We run camps, community outreach events and At-Risk Youth programs, and offer nationally recognised training programs in youth work at both Certificate IV and Diploma levels.


About the role

Reporting to the People Services Delivery Manager, you will provide a high level of support to the People Services department. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • First point of contact for all People Services telephone enquiries;
  • Preparation of all new starter administration for all employees and volunteers;
  • Processing of all employment contract changes for existing staff;
  • Responsible for the people services incoming/outgoing mail and email ticketing system; 
  • Monitoring and follow up of associated documents in line with funding requirements;  
  • Working with Children compliance and renewals for all staff;
  • HR administration reporting 
  • Other general administration duties as required by the People Services team. 

This is a permanent full time position working Monday to Friday. To be considered this role you will need to have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or equivalent - essential;
  • Previous experience within HR would be highly regarded, however we would also consider tertiary qualified candidates with a strong administration background; 
  • High level written communication skills with strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent telephone skills in a professional environment;
  • High level of competency in Microsoft Office programs;
  • Demonstrated experience in customer relationships or customer service;
