Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Churches Housing Inc (CHI) is the peak representative body
for faith-based social and affordable housing providers, and those most
disadvantaged in their communities. CHI’s important work of advocacy, critical
partnerships with government, business and community sectors assist in the
innovation and education needed to build ongoing capacity for this vital
sector. https://churcheshousing.org.au/about-us-2/
The CEO leads a small, dedicated team, reporting to a
Board, committed to grow its visibility in supporting a larger membership base
and advocating the government’s funding provisions and policy reforms. The
ability to network and collaborate through common platforms and identify
opportunities for research that will substantiate the value of social and
affordable housing is part of the success of this role.
Quote: “In 2017–18, over 800,000 Australians were in social
housing, living in over 400,000 dwellings across the country. Most were in
public housing, with increasing numbers in community housing. Social housing
supported not just those on low incomes but people experiencing homelessness or
at risk of homelessness as well as people with disability.” Australian
