Leading Hand (Carpentry) – QCCC Mapleton:
QCCC Mapleton
is looking for a Maintenance Leading Hand (Carpentry) to work as part of a team
responsible for building projects and infrastructure maintenance. QCCC
Mapleton is one of Queensland’s busiest Outdoor Education Centres, with 300
beds accommodating more than 30,000 guests on an annual basis. The venue
caters to school groups through the week and a broad variety of weekend groups,
operating most weekends. The position will be responsible to work as part
of a team to lead others in building projects, maintaining buildings and
facilities in a safe presentable condition. The successful applicant will use a
variety of problem solving skills and a comprehensive working knowledge of the
residential and commercial construction industry to assist with operational
logistics. They will also be a person who can share building and life
experience with those they work with. This role will play an important part in
training and supporting other team members to work efficiently and to guarantee
safety standards are maintained. This position has an integral on call
component for site breakdowns and attending to guest’s needs during their stay.
It also has a weekend on call component that is rostered.
To be
successful in this role, you will need a minimum of 5 years post-apprenticeship
building experience and a comprehensive understanding of construction and
building maintenance. The role includes a generous (above Award) remuneration
package as well as onsite accommodation at QCCC Mapleton, a spectacular 55-acre
property in the mountains and rainforest of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
