About the role

This is a real opportunity to join a fast-paced family law practice group servicing a diverse client base and have extensive client contact. Flexible work arrangements in a small law firm in the Melbourne CBD.

Working in a great team led by an Accredited Specialist Principal you will also be excited by the opportunity to coach and mentor the junior lawyers in the team.

You will employ a professional and empathetic approach to:

·    Provide advice to a range of clients on matters involving children’s ongoing care arrangements following separation including advice about their financial and children’s cases, spousal maintenance, child support and Intervention Orders

·    Draft Binding Financial Agreements

·    Manage Family Law files

·    Take an active role in business development activities.

About you

To be successful in this role you will be a highly-driven practitioner, able to work autonomously and enjoy variety and a good challenge. You will have strong leadership, supervisory skills along with well-developed relationship building skills. You will enjoy working in in a collaborative and collegiate environment. 

This is a great opportunity for a senior lawyer to hit the ground running in a busy practice. 

    Ideally focused on a Senior Practitioner between 6 to 10 years post admission in Family Law;

    Accredited Specialisation or a Post-graduate qualification in Family Law would be highly desired;

    Proven experience practising in a team environment in a family law group;

    Good commercial acumen and emotional intelligence;

    Proven leadership skills and supervision and development of junior lawyers;

    Proactive and able to work autonomously;

    Able to build strong client and working relationships.

    Able to build business network for business development.
