Human Resource Generalist (0.4) – Maternity Leave Position (12 months)

Korus Connect is a Christian not-for-profit organisation whose purpose is to serve local communities, helping to connect people with their purpose and full potential

We are seeking a driven Human Resource Generalist, who will provide HR support across all HR disciplines, ensuring timely and accurate advice and support on HR management activities, policies, practices and legislation. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and review of organisational policies and procedures to promote best practice and ensure compliance.

Responsibilities include:

·       Writing, executing and reviewing policies and procedures ensuring that they comply with organisational and legal requirements and best practice

·       Providing timely and accurate advice and support on HR management activities, policies, practices, legislation, dispute resolution, performance management, conditions of employment, entitlements and other related issues to the Executives, Managers and staff

·       Supervising the end-to-end recruitment and selection process, incorporating position descriptions, advertising, shortlisting, interview and induction

·       Monitoring compliance with OH&S and other legislated requirements and providing advice in these areas

·       Conducting regular training sessions with Korus Connect staff members to equip them in the skills and knowledge of organisation policies, procedures and human resource functions

·       Assisting the CEO and Executive in assessing and documenting child safety risks within the organisation and eradicate/minimise any risk to the extent possible

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

·       Alignment with Korus Connect’s purpose, vision, mission and Christian values

·       A formal qualification in Human Resources, Business, Management or related business discipline

·       Demonstrated experience in a HR generalist/advisory role (min 3 years) with a sound knowledge of contemporary HR practices

·       Demonstrated experience in the creation and application of policies and procedures

·       Proven ability to apply business law in relation to HR and employee employment rights

·       A proactive and professional approach with the ability to influence and effectively contribute to a team working environment

·       Strong computer, organizational, analytical and problem solving skills

The position provides for flexible working arrangements (hours/days per week) and can be worked within school hours.
