Administrator Job Description
Hours: 14 per week (preferably split over three
days), 12 of these hours to be conducted on site.
Remuneration: $23/hour

Organisation: Armadale Baptist
Church is a small church
in the Inner Eastern suburbs. The congregation has a broad spread
demographically in age and life stage. The congregation has a strong ethos of
inclusiveness and offer a warm, casual environment. Currently the building it
inhabits (88 Kooyong Road, Armadale) is being developed into a Community Arts
Hub, with many community groups collaborating on site. The hub has 10 tenants
occupying it during the week. The church has prioritised community involvement
and we are determined to grow and develop effective ministries with people not
yet connected to Jesus.
Scope: This position is the key to our
communications and organisational systems. The Community Arts Hub is a key
interface of our church with the community and this position is pivotal in that
connection. Two significant components to this role are the venue management
(including tenants) and the support of the leadership team (deacons) including
the handling of day-to-day financial processes.
Duties:
1. Communications within
the church and with our community
· Front
desk reception (email, mail, phone, website, charity distribution)
2. Smooth Operations
· Resource
Sunday gathering (music and venue)
· Directory
of people
· Maintaining
the office (equipment and budget)
· Legal
requirements (copyright, BUV documentation)
3.Venue and Tenants
· On-site
organisation of tenants and bookings (lease, invoicing, fee schedule, calendar)
· Communication
regarding property needs with property manager
4. Financial
· Banking money, paying accounts, basic bookkeeping, pay slips
· Communication regarding finances with the treasurer and accountant
5. Support of the Pastor
· Resource
pastor and deacons with relevant data, regular alignment meetings.
The
administrator is not required to be a member of the church but must be
available to attend occasional services and leadership team meetings.
Required skills:
· Strong
communication skills
· A
desire to offer welcome and positive interaction with community
· Comprehensive
knowledge of Microsoft Office
· Proactive,
taking initiative and following through
· Efficient
organisational skills and the ability to create and maintain good process
· Book
keeping experience an advantage
· Working
knowledge of Xero an advantage
· Accurate
knowledge of copyright requirements and CCLI licence procedures an advantage
