Saward Dawson is seeking an enthusiastic law graduate to support our taxation and business advisory teams.  The ideal applicant will have undertaken some accounting subjects either at degree level or as part of the VCE. 
Whether you are nearly finished your degree or have just completed your degree, considering a career at Saward Dawson should be high on your priority list. We are highly experienced in catering to graduates’ needs and training them in all areas needed for development into capable practitioners.  Graduates with a double degree in Law and Commerce/Business or Law graduates who have completed VCE accounting will be considered favourably.

The Program

Saward Dawson has considerable experience in graduate programs.  This is a new graduate role and the program will be tailored to the individual and will include regular intensive training sessions as well as non-technical areas such as personal development, effective writing, delivering presentations and current topical issues. This involves fortnightly general training, monthly intensive training and specific, in depth tax training every second month. To promote the personal development of our staff, we encourage graduates to contribute to our training program by giving them the opportunity to research and present special interest topics to other staff.

Professional development is an important part of growing as a professional and so we will support the applicant with PD in both legal and accounting areas including support for the completion of the CA program if appropriate.

The successful graduate will be assigned to the tax division but will assist across a number of divisions. Initial assignments will aid in developing knowledge and skills in the areas of taxation and corporate law, include research and tax return preparation. Supervised client contact will commence almost immediately, giving you the opportunity to improve and expand your interpersonal skills.

We assist many different organisations from sole traders to international entities and charities. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of clients as you gain more exposure across the firm.
