OVERVIEW

SIM Australia is seeking a person with a heart for God to coordinate a team serving our financial and prayer partners for SIM's missionaries and projects. Our Partner Relations Coordinator is responsible for day to day communication and interactions with our partners. This includes contact and communication management, helping with the processing of donations, management of our relationships using our donor database and supervision of a team assisting you in the role.

As part of SIM’s Home Ministry Team, the Partner Relations Coordinator provides day to day supervision & support of a team that services SIM’s missionary and ministry project partners.

These partners include donors, churches, prayer partners and SIM missionaries & alumni.

SIM aims to support, grow and deepen our relationship with our ministry partners. Specific tasks include managing donor enquiries, donation processing, data entry, managing & reporting from the donor database and other administration tasks. The role supports interaction with SIM’s partners primarily via email or phone. The role will report to SIM’s Partner Relations and Media Director.

Essential knowledge, skills and competencies

A successful candidate will need:

  • Christian faith - A heart to follow Jesus and participate in a church community.
  • Strong inter-personal skills - Has the ability to encourage donors and churches to grow their relationship with SIM through prayer and financial support of our missionaries and projects. (via phone, email and other forms of communication). Ability to work with enthusiasm and energy to motivate a team and our partners.
  • Team supervision experience - Facilitate effective and practical coordination, supervision, training and coaching for a small team of assistants.
  • Donor/customer service experience – Good verbal and written communication skills. Communicates professionally and confidently on the phone, email and other forms of communication. Be relational, self–motivated, inquisitive and tenacious in approaching all interactions.
  • Team player with strong organisation skills and attention to detail – Ability to follow and improve processes to improve the interaction experience with our ministry partners. Ability to work effectively in a team environment (and autonomously as required).
  • Donor database experience - Experience with managing donor databases (with ThankQ or similar non-profit database) or Customer Relation Management (CRM) tools. Ensuring donor and church information is accurately maintained to service the organisation.
  • Data entry experience – Overseeing and assisting with data entry to support SIM’s donors and gift acknowledgement/receipting.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to multitask, exercise flexibility and be capable of learning on the job. A level of in-house training will be provided for the role.
  • Have the ability to work full-time in SIM’s National Office in Penshurst, Sydney

Desirable Requirements

  • Prior experience with processing of donations or similar transactions, specifically with the ThankQ database (www.thankq.com.au).
  • Prior experience with improving partner or customer management processes to increase engagement and managing compliance.
  • Prior experience providing communications and mailing list support for appeals/campaigns and events.
  • Experience in providing reports and insights from a donor database (or equivalent) to inform donor and church engagement strategies to other SIM stakeholders.

SUMMARY

The Partner Relations Coordinator role is for a Christian who is open to using their skills to serve the work of making Jesus Christ known to all nations. This role covers a range of activities as part of a Christ-centred, devoted and enthusiastic organisation, within a pleasant and supportive team environment.

The position is located at SIM Australia’s Sydney office, Penshurst NSW 2222. (5 days per week full-time)

Initial employment will be for a 3 month employee agreement. This position is necessary to meet the needs of our team in covering a period of extended leave. There is a possibility of permanent employment in the longer term, which may be offered to the right candidate.
