For 38 years, Prison Fellowship Australia (PFA) has been sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with prisoners and their families. Our programs and services extend nationally, both inside and outside prison walls, through the faithful ministry of over 1100 volunteers. PFA is a member of Prison Fellowship International, enjoys a positive working relationship with all Corrective Service Departments throughout Australia, and is a registered charity organisation with the ACNC.

The PFA board is currently looking to appoint a number of new Directors. We are committed to a board that consists of a diversity of perspectives and experiences, expertise and interests. We welcome applications from men and women from any State/Territory.

Essential Skills and Attributes

PFA has a national General Manager and a national office, with operational staff in each State. Your role as a Director will primarily be governance, providing accountability for the General Manager and senior staff.

Directors are required to have the following skills and attributes:

  • A commitment to Prison Fellowship’s Christian ethos, as expressed in its Statement of Faith, vision, mission, and values.
  • A commitment to a belief in the potential for restoration of all people.
  • Meet the ACNC requirements of a Company Director.
  • Willingness to undertake training and development.
  • Ability to attend and participate at quarterly board meetings (three via video link and one face-to-face per year)
  • Willingness to participate on board committees, as necessary.

As a not-for-profit organisation, PFA does not remunerate Directors for their position. Any travel and other expenses may be covered.
