The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a newly created role that focuses on developing our people and culture. It is an opportunity for an experienced and commercially oriented Human Resources leader to work with other energetic leaders to further ignite the next phase of our change strategy.


The type of person we need

We are a people-centred organisation whose values are informed by our Christian DNA.  As a key member of our new Leadership Team, we need someone with an active faith and a desire to see lives changed through their Christian character.  We require a strong leader, one prepared to make hard decisions, adept at having difficult conversations but in a manner that is equitable and done with compassion. 

We are looking for someone who is a natural leader, who consistently meet deadlines, has strong commercial nous and a good understanding of contemporary best practice HR. You may be a person who has experience as a HR Manager, looking for a change in the scope of your role to be more strategic or a change in your working life or you may be re-entering the workforce but in a part-time capacity.


Key responsibilities
Providing service to 200+ employees spread across many sites across Sydney, this role will involve strategic input in overseeing performance management, recruitment and selection activity, and Workers Compensations Management, Industrial and Employee Relations. Additionally, the role serves as a major support for the ongoing development of culture of excellence and acting as a point of contact for employees.

Essential Expertise

We require:

·       A strong leader who has a track record successfully working with managers to assist them in being an effective leader of people and providing clear guidance in employment matters.

·       An effective leader of people, who has had exposure to a broad variety of HR practices (Recruitment/IR/OHS/Workers Compensation/Payroll etc) at a senior level.

·       A person with strong experience in employment practice and in EA development and negotiation.

·       Someone who is prepared to both learn new skills and apply their knowledge to areas with an orientation towards detail and passion for delivering excellent service.


Preferable Expertise

·       A sound working knowledge of payroll systems.

·       Experience with NFP community organisation, preferably Christian.

·       A working knowledge of the early learning sector and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements
We require formal relevant qualifications in a Human Relations or a related discipline. We also require someone with a:

·       Heart that is consistent with our Christian identity

·       Current NSW Drivers Licence

·       Capacity to travel frequently to our many sites across Sydney

·       Current Working with Children Check (or ability to achieve the same)
