Thornburys is a boutique Chartered Accounting and Wealth Advisory firm with a well-established presence and client base in Kalamunda. Our dedicated team has a strong reputation for delivering quality, ethical and client focussed services across: business structuring, taxation, superannuation, financial planning, audit & assurance and not-for-profit consulting.

We are looking for new team members with tertiary qualifications in accounting and/or financial planning. These positions may be ideal for recent graduates or workforce returnees who are keen to establish their career with a company that values staff and their long term career development. Successful applicants will work closely with senior members of the team and gain exposure to many different facets of accounting and financial planning processes - with a view to specialising in their area of passion.


The key responsibilities include:

·    Assisting our licenced financial advisers and chartered accountants.

·    Preparing statements of advice, records of advice, para-planning submissions and client review documents.

·    Preparing financial statements & tax returns (including companies, trusts, self-managed super funds, partnerships & individuals) and business activity statements.

·    Providing tax planning advice.

·    Liaising with the ATO on behalf of our clients.

·    Understanding of (and contribution to) advice strategies.

·    Assisting with ad hoc client, business and admin projects.


To be successful, you will have:

·    Excellent accuracy, attention to detail and time management skills.

·    A strong work ethic and genuine desire to provide quality services to clients within required timeframes.

·    The ability to use initiative to resolve problems, suggest improvements to processes and appropriately respond to feedback.

·    The ability to analyse and integrate information from a variety of sources to draw accurate and logical solutions. 

·    Experience in MS Office software as well as general computer literacy and touch typing skills.

·    Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

·    Degree qualifications in Accounting and/or Financial Planning and the right to work in Australia.
