Lawyer 5-6 years' PAE – Dispute Resolution Lawyer (12 months’ Contract)

Lewis Holdway is a small and friendly law firm.  We are looking for an experienced Litigation Lawyer to join our team.   In this role you will lead the practice group with the Principal, including delegation and supervision of work, coaching and mentoring of direct reports.

Proven litigation experience and understanding of court rules and practices, excellent legal knowledge and approach, resilience, ability to manage multiple matters, organisation and time management skills. 

·    Ensuring clients receive an excellent level of care, service and guidance

·    Identifying appropriate dispute resolution processes and procedures (including through formal and informal mediation or court proceedings).

·    Establishing and maintaining strong collaborative working relationships with existing and new clients.

·    Managing files from the commencement of their matter through to the conclusion, under supervision.

·    Drafting and preparing court documents and briefs to Counsel (where appropriate).

·    Preparing for Mediations and Informal conferences.

·    Preparing for and attending court cases (interlocutory and final hearings).

·    Appearing as an advocate at Court and briefing Counsel where necessary.

·    Manage client expectations regarding costs at the outset of a matter and on an ongoing basis.

·    Contribute to business development, marketing and process improvement strategies.

You will have:

Experience in Dispute Resolution Law and appearing in Court.

Strong professional and a clear communication style that gives confidence to clients.

5-6 Years’ PAE experience.

Thorough knowledge of and conduct of Victorian Court procedures.

Strong leadership, coaching, teamwork and mentoring skills.

Demonstrated conciliatory approach to resolving matters for clients.

Resilience and ability to work under pressure.

Strong attention to detail and adherence to procedures.
